Putting Our Money where Our Heart is

Originally, our mandate was to help cancer patients and their caregivers with everyday chores so they could focus on fighting this disease. We provided housekeeping, landscaping, meals and transportation - concierge services for cancer patients, if you will.

Through the years working with the community, the most common problem cited by both patients and care givers alike was dependable transportation to appointments. As you can imagine, the logistics of getting a cancer patient to all of their numerous care appointments can be a daunting task, even for those with a broad support system. Given the scope of the problem, providing available and dependable transportation has been the majority focus of our efforts since 2019 and for the foreseeable future.

Our Solution

The Cancierge Foundation has worked with UBER to negotiate a favorable rate and purchases ride vouchers in bulk and distributes them throughout the cancer community wherever needed. The application process is simple and frictionless. Once a qualified need is identified, the patient receives his or her voucher and can re-apply when funds are spent.

We also work directly with Utah Cancer Specialists that operates 12 community-based oncology clinics along the Wasatch Front. Patients need only to contact the clinic receptionist and ride arrangements are made with no obligation to the patient. Patients need only show up for the ride at the scheduled time. Driver gratuity is included.

Through the years, the Cancierge Foundation’s transportation programs have provided dependable transportation to get patients to their life-saving treatment appointments.

Grant Recipients and Partnerships

The Cancierge Foundation partners with other organizations in the community whose programs align with our mission. Grant requests are submitted and evaluated for funding by our board on a continual basis.

Needs Beyond Medicine

Dedicated to helping cancer patients with non-medical expenses, Needs Beyond Medicine came to us with a need to support their program providing transportation services to rural-based patients.
